welcome, welcome!
Hello, I'm Ellie! Here's the short version of who I am:
I'm a twenty-year-old, Chinese-Malaysian-American student and dancer who uses too many hyphens (clearly). I'm currently a junior at Stanford University, majoring in English in the Literature and Philosophy track.

Here's the long version:

I've been a ballet dancer for 15 years and counting, and there's something about it that keeps me coming back again and again, even when I think I've made my peace with it. I absolutely adore dancing now, although that wasn't always the case. There are ups and downs with any long-term relationship, but I'm ever so grateful that we've stuck this one out. I also do Chinese folk dance and am an absolute newbie at hip hop! I have no clue how to improv, although I sure would like to.

I find myself in short-term romances with niche academic topics, although I rarely commit to them for that long. Past flings have included philosophy of religion, Japanese aestheticism, and learning Latin. I'm not sure what'll come next.

I occasionally write poetry and existential musings (which you'll find on this blog), and I regularly read many things. I like sunrises and sunsets, warm cups of tea, and staying up late with the people I love.
